Find out about latest air source heat pump and solar PV technologies and what government support is available for you.

We are MCS certified for Solar PV!
DSC Heating have always been following recent developments in the heating industry.
We upskilled our business to offer air source heat pump installations over 10 years ago, and we are now MCS certified for solar PV as well as heat pumps.
Why is this important to you, as a consumer?
MCS means Microgeneration Certification Scheme, which requires installers to meet extremely high standards in their design and installation, making sure clients get the best quality service controlled by a central accreditation body.
For solar PV, it also means that with our installations, consumers are ready to sell surplus electricity back to the grid, which is only possible if the installation has been undertaken by an MCS installer.
With solar PV being the most popular renewable technology today, why not talk to us to find out what it could do for you?

A record-breaking 2024
The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) in the UK reported that 2024 was a record-breaking year for small-scale renewable energy installations. Over 260,000 installations were certified in homes and businesses, a 7% increase from 2023. This brings the total number to over 2 million.
Heat pumps saw a significant rise with nearly 60,000 installations, a 43% increase from 2023. Solar PV was the most popular technology with over 180,000 installations, and battery storage also had record numbers just shy of 20,000 installations.
Government grants and loans have made heat pumps more affordable, contributing to this growth.
Better standards and consumer protection with less paperwork
A redeveloped MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) will focus more on quality and less on paperwork. Installers will need to show evidence of quality installations, and assessments will be based on the risk of non-compliance.
There will be a central point for customer complaints for better oversight and support.
This will mean less admin for installers and consumers while keeping up high quality standards.
