Solar PV solutions
What is Solar PV?
Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems convert sunlight into electricity using semiconductor materials secured on rooftops or ground mounts and converting the generated direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) used by everyday appliances. This technology provides a sustainable and renewable energy source.
Batteries and the grid
Any excess electricity generated can be either fed back into the grid, potentially earning credits or payments from your utility company, or stored in batteries for use when sunlight is not available.
Your system can even be designed and built to do both!
Note, however, that your system has to be designed, installed and signed off by an MCS accredited installer (which DSC Heating are), to sell electricity back to your provider.
Is solar PV the right choice for me?
A solar PV system works best if
-
Your roof is South-facing with an optimal tilt angle based on the latitude
-
There is no shading of the panels - Even partial shading can significantly reduce system performance. Panels should be placed where they are free from shadows cast by trees, buildings, or a chimney.
Battery or no battery?

This will depend on the amount of electricity your system is estimated to produce and your electricity consumption pattern
As MCS certified installers, DSC Heating will provide you with an estimation of the system performance.
